Code Pink Keeping It Classy

Now I would remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that I recognize Code Pink isn’t the norm on the left. Only the dumbest and most beligerent of the left wing fall into the same category as these folks, but I think it’s important that people recognize that this type of shit is never justified.
Having recently graduated from DePaul University, I have to say that in certain circles (like DePaul) this message is not getting through. Last year the DePaul Conservative Alliance hosted Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Project. Hundreds of radical protesters showed up, leading to a $1200 security bill the University passed on to the group, and the students admitted into the event booed and hissed throughout Simcox’s piece and then used the question section for hyperbole and demagoguery (”You insulted out professors, would you like to apologize?” “How can you turn ‘Si se puede’ into a message of hate?”). They had an opportunity to address an important political figure in this country, and they used it to publicly jerk each other off in an orgy of ignorant self satisfaction.
It’s a funny video, but it’s also frustrating people like this actually exist, considering that they just make things worse for everyone.
Shoots thanx for the Democracy Now clip, Amy Goodman is a rock solid journalist. As for the complaint about “Code Pink”, what? Are you saying Rumsfeld isn’t a war criminal? I mean sure the chicks sounded a bit spastic but they were calling a spade a spade and I’m sure they were a bit worked up, I doubt the get many chances to face a mass murderer. Rumsfeld is human excrement. Telling “Code Pink” to keep it classy, lol, right, confront war criminals with class. To the gallows with the bastard.
