HAHAHA! Oh That’s Terrible!

Published by WhiteNotMuslimMalcomX at 6:32 pm under House Edit This

The House GOP released this ad today.  Watch the whole thing, it gets really funny towards the end (burning flags, explosions, the whole 9 yards)

I don’t want to pretend as if a double standard applies for Republicans, considering I recently hit the Democrats for this web ad .  This ad is obviously a slew of cheap shots.  Yes, there are certain things in foreign policy and national security where President Obama has increased out exposure to jihadist threats, but I also think that overall his foreign policy has been the strongest aspect of his Presidency thus far.  I think ultimately there are people in place to make sure that business is being handled.

But, that understood, it’s a pretty good ad.  Yeah, it appeals to our basest instincts, but that’s part of politics.  I’d like a substantive serious conversation in our national body politic, but that’s not how things are, and as JFK said in “Profiles in Courage”, if you go down in the vain defense of principle you won’t be around in the future to defend that or any other principle.  I haven’t heard the mention of moral hazard once in our “national debate” about the economy, there are no serious discussions being held, at least not publicly.

But I absolutely love the ending of that ad.  The burning flag clip?  Classic.
